David Everett Hulfachor, age 77, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at home with his family by his side.
David was born on July 14, 1947 in Springfield, IL the son of Everett and Anna Smith Hulfachor.
He married Donna Marion on October 10, 1970 in Athens.
Mourning his passing are his daughters, Danielle Lee Hulfachor of Athens, Rebecca Lynn Hulfachor, grandson, Steven Hulfachor and granddaughter, Abigail Patrick as well as several cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Donna and both parents.
David graduated from Tri-City High School in 1965.
He worked for the local 965 for 55 years as a heavy machinery operator.
David was a third-degree Mason at the Riverton Masonic Lodge #786 for over 50 years. He was a Shriner and was also a member of the St. Andrews Society.
David enjoyed leather working and woodworking. He enjoyed attending rendezvous and reenactments. David had a great love for history. Most of all, David’s family was very important to him.
David served in the Navy -USN during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1972.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home. Masonic services will be held at 11:15 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home.
Pastor Julie Smith will be officiating.
Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Hope School or Shriners Childrens Hospital.
