Darrell Downs

Darrell Richard Downs, age 76, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his residence.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Patsy; two sons, Gary Downs of Crete, IL and Jay (wife Tina) Downs of Waverly, IL; one daughter, Marsha (John) Willing of Thayer; two grandsons; Austin and Ryan Downs; mother, Marie Downs of Sherman; three sisters, Joanne Wheatley, Marlene Trueblood, Dorothy Downs; four brothers, Harold, Paul, Charles and John Downs; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Kathleen Poteet.

Mr. Downs was born April 12, 1940 in Elkhart, the son of Howard and Marie Loomis Downs.

Darrell married Patsy Fry on January 11, 1969 in Sherman.

Darrell retired from Bunn Capital after 24 years.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be contributed to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
