Dale Kent Ingersoll

Dale K. (Kent) Ingersoll, age 86, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Carle Health Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

 Kent Ingersoll was born on September 12, 1938 in Bloomsburg, PA to Carroll Harlan and Eva Louise Ingersoll (nee Billig).

 He is preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Glenn and Mark.

Kent is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Para; his brother, Karl; and former wife, Ida Ingersoll; children, Cheryl (Ken) Janka, Guy (Jill) Ingersoll, Carrie (Mike) Dodd and Catherine Ingersoll; grandchildren, David Janka, Alan Janka, Lauren Janka and Mark (Tracy) Ingersoll; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Kent was a commercial pilot and flight instructor, and owned and operated Aviation Associates Inc, a flight school at Chicagoland and the Schaumburg Airports for many years. He later moved to Springfield Illinois with his wife, Carol.

 He was a former member of McHenry Masonic Lodge #158, and a current member of Athens Van Meter Lodge #762 and Pleasant Plains Lodge #700. He worshiped at First Baptist Church on Sandhill Road in Springfield, IL.

 Visitation for Kent will be held on Saturday January 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM until time of Masonic services at 5:45 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating.
