Corbie M. Lowry

Corbie M. Lowry, age 76, of Greenview, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 at 6:48pm with his grandson alongside him in Carlinville Rehab Center, Carlinville, IL.

 He was born on October 21, 1948.

 Mourning his passing are his brothers, Randy (Char) Lowry and Jerry (Debbie) Lowry; his stepchildren, Cathy Wagoner and Jim (Angel) Richardson; his step-grandchildren, Charles Ray Richardson, Shy Wagoner (Jeff Alexander), Stefano Baldoni, Vinny Baldoni, and Evan Richardson; and great-grandchildren, Tyvin, Araya, Atalia, Nick, Nate and Lexie. 

 He is preceded in death by his partner, Darlene Richardson and stepson, Chaz Richardson.

 Corbie graduated from Danville High School in Indiana and later attended Purdue University.

 He retired from the State of Illinois Department of Corrections and was a Vietnam veteran serving for the United States Army Airborne, 173rd Division.

 Corbie always was a giving soul to many Catholic Charities, and anything related to animals and forest conservation.

 He was an avid collector of football cards, LP records, books, magazines, and movies. He loved attending auctions with his partner Darlene. Corbie always enjoyed working in his gardens, playing with his Dogs and Cats and helping with anything pertaining to the environment. 

 Visitation for Corbie will be held on Wednesday December 4th, 2024 from 10:00am until time of funeral services at 11:30am at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Rev. Fr. Varghese will be officiating. Burial will be held at West Cemetery in Athens immediately following the services. A luncheon will follow.
