Carol J. Freeman

Carol Freeman, age 88, of Cantrall, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Regency Care in Springfield, Illinois.

She was born on November 13, 1935 in Petersburg, the daughter of Everett and Nellie (Libben) Elliott.

Carol married Jasper Freeman on September 23, 1955 in Petersburg, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on October 14, 1992.

Mourning her passing are a son, Dan (wife Heather) Freeman; grandchildren, Dylian (Lauren) Damm, Dalton Damm (Sara Richards), and Dalanie (Dustin) Mibbs; great-grandchildren, Haylen, Kaison, Aubrey, Avery, Lyla; brother, Frank (Pat) Bell; several nieces and nephews, including the Olson family; and cousins, including the Libben family.   

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; and step-father, Merle Bell.

She graduated from Petersburg PORTA High School.

Carol worked for St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

A visitation for Carol will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 6:00 until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.  Private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
