Raymond Buhr, age 87, of Springfield, formerly of Athens died April 28, 2008,at Memorial Medical Center.

Great Grandson : Evan Stott
Sisters : Dorothy Mingle of Springfield
Eleanor (Ted) Dillenburg of Orland Park, IL
Several Step-grandchildren and nieces & nephews
Mr. Buhr was born December 2, 1920 in Farmingdale, IL the son of James and Bertha Day Buhr.
Mr. Buhr married Velma Pearl Fawns in October 1, 1939 and she preceded him in death on March 6, 1983. He is also preceded in death by his parents, a brother Russell Buhr and a sister Esther Beal. .
Mr. Buhr was employed by Fiat Allis for 39 years, retiring in 1982. Raymond served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of the Athens VFW, Winnebago Club and loved Country Opry. His hobbies were gardening, camping and country music.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home with services on Thursday at 11:00 AM.
