Bruce Carter, age 59, of Athens passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center.
He is survived by his mother Norma Carter, one daughter Lara (Kris) Bollin; two sons Brandon Poe and Forrest (Sarah) Poe; two granddaughters Molly Langloss and Ruby Poe; two brothers Jim (Barb) Carter and Larry (Barb) Carter; one sister Mary Tobias; and several nieces and nephews.
Bruce was born March 22, 1954 in Springfield, IL, the son of James and Norma Carter.
He is preceded in death by his father, James, and a brother, Ed Carter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013, from 5 : 7 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL.
Private burial will be at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association.

We want the whole family to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. We were very sad to hear of the passing of Bruce. We thought that he was a pretty great guy. And were proud to call him a friend. Sincerely, Larry and Carol

Norma and family,
So sorry to read of Bruce’s death and want you to know you are in are thoughts and prayers. We have lots of fond memories of Bruce and know you have also. Sorry we were unable to extend our sympathy in person; however, please be assured we are thinking of you.
