Victor L. Bell, age 66, of Greenvierw, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his home.
He is survived by his daughters, Terri Kienzler of Petersburg, Kristina Funderburk of Georgia, Tami (Billy) Walters of Springfield; four grandsons, Luke Kienzler of Springfield and Zayin Kienzler of Petersburg, Michael and Justin Funderburk of Georgia; two granddaughters; Evelyn and Audriana Walters, both of Springfield; a brother, Richard G. (Charlotte) Bell of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vic is preceded in death by his wife Gloria “Jean”; a brother, William A. Bell; two sisters, Barbara Ann Clemens and LaVerne Clemens; and a granddaughter, Ivy Mae Walters. Vic was born October 17, 1946 in Springfield, IL, the son of William and Dorothy (Fields) Bell.
He married Gloria “Jean” Nance on October 17, 1981.
Vic worked for the City of Petersburg Water Department for over 30 years. He was a member of the Greenview Christian Church.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Vic loved fishing, reading, and hunting.
He served for the United States Marine Corp from February of 1966 thru February of 1968. While serving, he trained in Washington DC specializing in operations against guerrilla units, land mine warfare, explosive and demolition, and basic combat engineer.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
Rev. Blake Canterbury will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

What a grand time and place to grow up in. Vic, Rich and I enjoyed our youth to the fullest! Know that your loved one will be missed and remembered with a smile by a very old friend! Godspeed My Friend! J.D.
