Ray Beal, age 64, of Williamsville, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Beal was born April 29, 1944 in Springfield, IL the son of Samuel Alfred and Esther Buhr Beal. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bill and brother-in-law Leroy Donley. Ray married Carol Ingram on June 6, 1965. Mr. Beal was a truck driver for Donley Trucking, Broughton Trucking & Griffith trucking for many years before he became a heavy equipment operator for Marle & Canco Inc. He retired from being Road Commissioner of Williams Township after 27 years. Mr. Beal also was owner and operator of “Ray’s Digging Service”. He was a dedicated Nascar Fan and also a fan of dirt track races. Over the years he sponsored the following race car drivers; Colarman, Kelly Kovski, Justin Allgaier motor sports, Meyers, Wyzard, Dick Taylor, Eskew, Cleeton, E & M, and O’Dell Racing. He followed the local basketball & baseball teams in his leizure time. He was a dedicated husband, Father, Pawpaw, Brother & Uncle. He will be sadly missed by all family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens and where the funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:30.
