Kenneth L. Baum, age 80, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his residence.
He is survived by two sons, Glen Baum and Darel Baum of Athens; a granddaughter, Kyleigh Baum; a sister, Linda (husband Ron) Ferricks of Athens; mother-in-law, Altha Liehr of Petersburg; and two nieces and three nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol in 2008; a brother, Earl; and his parents.
Mr. Baum was born March 15, 1934, in Athens, IL the son of Eural and Ermal Balster Baum. He attended Athens High School. He was in the US Army, serving in Germany from 1956 until 1958.
He married Carol Liehr on April 5, 1969 in Springfield.
Mr. Baum was a carpenter and a member of Local #16. He retired from St. John’s Hospital after 25 years of employment.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.

My sympathy to Kenneth’s family he was a wonderful person. I have many happy memories when we were younger. May your golden memories bring you comfort.
