Condolences

  1. To Dickie’s family: Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I worked with Dickie at the Western Illinois Correctional Center from 1989-1999 when he came to work there as a Maintenance Equipment Operator when I was the Warden there. Dickie would stop by my office several times a week, just to say hi and shoot the breeze, but always letting me know “the scuttlebutt” and his thoughts on any matter whatsoever! It was always good conversation, and he always had a point to make me aware of. I had utmost respect for Dickie. He earned a very good reputation as a good, decent human being. Over the years since I retired, I would run into Dickie every so often, and it was always good to see him and talk. May God hold him in the palm of His hand. Thanks for the memories, Dickie. I’ll always remember you as a good and valued friend, and I will miss the friendship you so gladly and freely gave to me. God Bless You. Bill

  2. To “Dickie’s” family: I’ve always appreciated and valued the friendship, support, and good counsel of “Dickie” for many years. For one to have known him, was to have loved him, which was truly a great privilege. Thanks for sharing “Dickie” with the many lives he touched and for his never failing service to the party of Lincoln. “Dickie,” May you rest in Eternal peace, finally free of the physicial infirmity and hardship this last year has brought. “Soft and safe be the earthly bed of our brother. Bright and glorious be his rising from it. Fragrant be the acacia sprig which shall flourish there. And in the bright morning of the world’s resurrection may his Soul spring into eternal beauty in realms beyond the skies. Until then, dear friend and brother, until then, Farewell.” God bless each of you at this difficult time. And thanks to you “Dickie,” for being my Friend!

  3. Barb – My thoughts and prayers are with you. I never really knew you until I started worked at the Y in Mt. Sterling, and then finding out who you were, we enjoyed “Dickie” stories. In working with Dick at Western Illinois Correctional Center, he is one of a kind and a gem of a person. He would do anything for anyone. God has called him for his help, and what a helper he has received.

You and your family take care.

    Patty

  4. Melody, I am truly sorry for your loss. I didn’t know you dad well, but I do know that he was a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am here for you whatever you need. I love you, Vicki
