Emma Susan Cofer Alphin, age 82, of Williamsville passed away April 1, 2012.
Mrs. Alphin was born March 22, 1930 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of John and Brazilla Edrington Cofer.
She attended MacMurray College, University of Kentucky, and graduated from University of Illinois at Springfield. She retired from Horace Mann Insurance after 27 years of employment. In addition she worked for the Attorney General Office, Illinois Ag Service, and was a waitress at several local establishments including The Crawdad Hole, the Lake Club, the Wishing Well and Vic’s Pizza. She is a member of Williamsville Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, sister Helen, nephews Mark and Roger, and granddaughter Jennifer Suefran Alphin.
She is survived by daughter Susan Jeannette Alphin of Sylmar, Ca, son Phillip (wife Sara) Alphin of Williamsville, grandchildren Danielle and P.J., great grandchildren Hunter and Bella, and several nieces.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville Friday, April 6, at 6 PM. Memorial service will follow at Williamsville Christian Church.
Officiating will be David Beals of Williamsville Christian Church.

I have fond memories of Susan when we worked together at Horace Mann and have thought of her many times since I last saw her. My sympathy to all her family.
