Allyn Joann (Jo) Fisher-Semple, nee Turley graduated to the waiting arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 5th, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
Jo was born to Jerome and Edna (Fosnaugh) Turley on March 6th, 1931. She grew up on the farm east of Dawson, IL and graduated from Tri-City High School in 1949. After attending Illinois Business School, she was employed by the Illinois National Guard as assistant to the unit commander. It was while working for the Guard that a co-worker invited her to a company picnic where she met her future husband, Ken Fisher.
She married Kendall A. Fisher of Loami, IL on May 9, 1953. Together they raised four children, Kendall Fisher (Kathy) of Bolingbrook, IL, Kimberly Candler (Brad-deceased) of Fishers, IN, Todd Fisher (Charity) of Sharpsburg, IL and Tracy Fisher (Kim) of Lake St.Louis, MO. They survive along with twelve beloved grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ken preceded her in death due to cancer in 1981. Jo is survived by three sisters, Doris Davis (Carl – deceased) of RIverton, IL, Pat Martin (Stan – deceased) of Los Angeles, CA and Sharon Booker (Bob) of Springfield, IL and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Kendall, her parents, and her brother Wendell Turley (Rita) and son-in-law Brad Candler.
After losing her husband to cancer in 1981, Jo married Jack Semple in 1988. He preceded her in death due to cancer in 2011. Jack’s children are Kathy Siegrist (Kent) of Billings, MT, Doug Semple of Billings, MT, Holly Miller (Mike Bakken) of Brooklyn, WI, and Scott Semple (deceased), five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jo was a devoted wife and mother. Her words to us hours before she passed:
“Tell everyone dying is easy with Jesus, praise the Lord.”
Visitation is Saturday, Sept 10, 2022, from 9:30-10:30 at New Life Baptist Church, 201 N West Street., Athens, IL, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Camp Butler Road, following the service.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. We have such wonderful memories of being with your family when Mark and Tracy played baseball together. Mom really enjoyed talking with your mom these last couple of years. Your mom was a very special person. Please take care of yourselves. God Bless you all.

Thank you Jo’s dear family for presenting a beautiful service for her. It honored her and the Lord Jesus. I loved her dearly and will miss her presence so much in my life. Please accept Bob and my love and sympathy in your loss of your special mother.
