Allen, Nadine

Nadine Allen, age 91, of Cantrall, passed from this world on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.

Nadine, the daughter of Ed Guffey and Bertha Geyer Guffey, was born in Logan County on March 20, 1923.

She was a homemaker most of her life, helping with the farm and horse business that her husband, Roy, ran. In later years she worked at the First National Bank of Springfield as manager of their cafeteria until her retirement in 1996.

Her husband, Roy, preceded her in death on February 4, 1997.

Nadine is survived by a son Dennis R. (Becky) Allen of Cantrall, a grandson, Dennis L. Allen of Florissant, Missouri, a granddaughter, April L. Allen of Springfield, and a niece, Linda Milner of Fancy Prairie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:30 AM. Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Rev. Don Neisler will be officiating.
