Alice Franklin

Alice M. Franklin, age 91, of Williamsville, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. 

She was born November 17, 1932 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Michael and Alice (Malazinskas) Sherrock. 

Alice married Cliff Franklin in 1952. They were happily married for 51 years.

Mourning her passing are her two daughters, Alice Rebeck and Tammie (husband Ed) Stuemke; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Marion Cline, Charlotte Camile, Grace Sherrock, and Gene Sherrock; and her beloved dog, Muffin. 

She is preceded in death by husband, Cliff; daughter, LeAnn Carver; brother, Bob Sherrock; and her parents. 

Alice worked for the Williamsville School District for several years.

She attended Williamsville High School. She loved to crochet and sew. 

Alice was a member of the Williamsville Methodist Church. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 3:00 until time of funeral services at 4:30 PM at the Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Rev. Shane Sims will be officiating. Burial of cremains will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Williamsville Methodist Church.
