Aaron Simpson, 73, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021.
He was born September 6, 1947 in Gary, IN to Herbert and Louise (McKinney) Simpson.
Aaron graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, and made his career as an Environmental Scientist with Seeco in Tinley Park, IL.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where he had served as an Elder and a Trustee.
Aaron enjoyed watching IU Basketball, and he had a special love for his dogs and his son’s dogs. He will be remembered as a loyal, hardworking, and caring man, who was a loving husband and father.
On January 16, 1982 in Pleasant Plains, IL, he married Sherry Miller, who survives, along with their sons: Matthew Simpson of Capitola, CA and Michael Simpson of Valparaiso, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: George and Jon Simpson; and sisters: Donna Daniels and Janrose Szostek.
A visitation was held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 234 W. Division Road, Valparaiso. The funeral service was held on Saturday, March 20 at 10:30 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Moeller Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Burial of cremains will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Casual attire is requested if attending the service.
