David Lee Gudgel, Jr.

David Lee Gudgel, Jr., age 47, of Pawnee, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his residence.

He was born October 6, 1974 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of David Lee and Sandra (Goins) Gudgel.

Mourning his passing are a daughters, Justina (husband Brett) Harlan, Persephanie Gudgel and Nikelle Basford; grandchildren, Hunter and Lillian; sister, Tammy (husband Justin) Matthews; niece, Shailynn Matthews; and nephews, Austin and Tyler Matthews.

David is preceded in death by his parents.

He worked for Gudgel Concrete for many years.

David loved to fish and hanging out with his family, especially his grandchildren, niece, and nephews.  He knew how to have a good time and always had a smile on his face.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Visitation for David will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4:00 until time of memorial service at 6:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens with Rev. Jeremy Rhodes officiating.
