Carol L. Halford

Carol L. Halford passed from this world on Saturday, November, 25, 2017.  She was born the daughter of Howard and Cecile Stites on January 12, 1936, in Jackson, Michigan. She married Gary Halford on August 6, 1951.

They farmed in the Cantrall area until 2000.  Carol was a proud member of the Athens Christian Church and loved the Lord.

Mrs. Halford is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Gary L. (Rhonda) of Palm Coast, FL; son Steve (Jan) of Sherman; daughter, Linda Daugherty (Ron) of Springfield, and son, Greg (Kayla) of Skiatook, OK.  Carol was a loving grandma to ten grandchildren, Shanna Hull, Michael Halford, Bryon Lenhart, Courtney Provart, Nikki Bounds, B.J. Halford, Josh Halford, Rodney Halford, Patrick Daugherty, Brock Halford; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her mother; her father; a brother, Richard Stites; a sister, Barbara; and father and mother-in-law, Hallye and Eva Halford.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Athens Christian Church.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Athens Christian Church.

Burial will be held at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee, IL at 1:00 PM following the luncheon.

Rev. Ken Gennicks from the Athens Christian Church will be officiating

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Athens Christian Church Building Fund.

    I am sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. I remember all of you from First Congregational United Church of Christ and that we are shirt tail relatives as Carol says.

  4. Gary, Gary L, Steve, Linda, and Greg, I’m So sorry to hear about Carol, and your mom.
    I just saw her last month or so when we were out and about, and I was coming out a door as she was coming in.
    I remember so many of the good times we’ve shared at church activities, women’s retreats, and helping out at church. And the time Becky and I were visiting at your farm so long ago.
